Fill In The Form & Find Out Whether You Are Eligible For A Free Boiler

If you do not know whether you qualify for the free boiler grant or not, there is an online form that you can fill in; then you will know for sure if you are eligible for the free boiler or not. This form is divided into three simple steps; we will go through all of them to help you out.

First thing you have to do is to enter your postal code, make sure you type a valid postal code in order to proceed. After this, you will go to step 1 which is entitled “Your Situation”. In this step, you will be asked to answer few questions from drop down lists.

 

Step 1: Your Situation

  • Property Ownership: Make sure that you must be a home owner, private tenant or a landlord. The grant does not cover social housing.
  • Benefits Received In The House Hold: Like child tax credit, JSA or ESA. When you reach the assessment process if you are eligible, make sure that all the paperwork for any benefits is ready; you will be asked for it.
  • Total household income: State whether it is more or less than 15,860£.

 

Step 2: Property

  • Property Type: Choose whether it is a house or a bungalow.
  • Property Style: Your options are: semi-detached, detached, mid-terraced or end-terraced.
  • Number of bedrooms
  • Property Age: Here you state when the property was built, if you do not know the exact age; you can make an assumption. Your choices are: before 1900, from 1900:1929, 1930:1950, 1981:2005 or from 2006: now.
  • Wall type/ construction age
  • Walls ever been insulated
  • When was your loft insulated
  • Main Fuel: Here you will be asked about the main fuel that you use for heating in your property, your choices are: electric storage heaters/mains gas/LPG or bottled gas/oil/wood or coal/no central heating. You may know if you are eligible or not from this point, if you use any main fuel source other than Mains Gas; then your application will be declined. The grant supports only households where Mains Gas is the main source of heating.
  • How old is the boiler?
  • What type of boiler?

Your options here are: wall mounted, floor mounted or back boiler.

  • Is this boiler faulty?
  • Fault Details: If your boiler is not faulty, there is an option of “Not Faulty” to choose from. If your boiler is faulty, then these are the choices to choose from: losing pressure, boiler leaking, makes noises, does not fire up, switches itself off or other.

 

Step 3: The Result

After finishing all of the above, step 3 will show you the result of your application. If you are not eligible, the result will be marked as red and you will be told about the reasons of refusal. If you are accepted, you will be asked to proceed to step 4.

 

Step 4: Your Details

In this step you will be asked to fill a form with your details, the information you will provide there will be reviewed and assessed; then if everything goes well, you will be contacted to book an appointment for the survey.
